An eventful time at evasys
What a month of events it has been for evasys! The team have been out and about across the UK and Ireland, meeting with connections old and new to talk about the power that a strong survey and insight solution can bring to student engagement, experience, retention and success.
evasys in Dublin, Leeds, Manchester and London
Starting in Dublin at the end of October with the evasys Student Engagement Forum, the team have hosted and attended five events in the past four weeks.
The evasys Student Engagement Forum took place at Trinity College Dublin and brought together leaders and practitioners in student engagement from across Ireland and the UK to learn and share experiences of successful student engagement initiatives.
Attendee Feedback
A resounding success, attendees at this evasys-hosted event provided overwhelmingly positive feedback on the event, as well as offering some personal insights about their experience on the day:
Next up was the Academic Registrars’ Council (ARC) Annual Conference in Leeds in early November, which saw Glenda Saint John and Marie Elgie from evasys in attendance to share insights about how evasys can help institutions with the conference themes of efficiency, productivity and effectiveness.
Straight after that, on 6th and 7th November, Helena Lim headed to the DVC/PVC Network in Manchester, which evasys was once again sponsoring. The event brings together senior leaders in higher education twice every year to focus on key issues and contemporary challenges in the sector.
The following week, Glenda and Helena were back on the road and heading to the Wonkhe Festival of Higher Education in London, an event some refer to as the “Glastonbury of HE”, but with less mud and more buzz! The two day event offered attendees debate, discussion, new ideas and opportunities to collaborate with HE leaders, journalists, commentators and policymakers.
At this event, Helena took part in a panel discussion with David Gilani of Middlesex University, Amber Snary of University of Bath’s Students’ Union and Livia Scott from Wonkhe, where they talked about making the most of student feedback – what is needed to achieve improvements and how to ensure strategic co-ordination, embedding surveys across learning, teaching and the student lifecycle.
Finally, Helena headed out again to the Higher Education Partnership Network (HEPN) South event in London on 19th and 20th November. The event set out to explore the key challenges facing UK higher education and discuss possible solutions. The focus for this year was internationalisation, setting foundations for success and new approaches to improving the student experience.

What’s next on the evasys events calendar?
While we are just about done with events for 2024, the 2025 events calendar is starting to take shape, beginning with our very own UK Student Engagement Conference in London.
Taking place on Wednesday 26th February at the University of Westminster, the organisation of the evasys Student Engagement Conference 2025 is in full swing.
More than 100 higher education leaders and student engagement professionals from universities, colleges and HE organisations across the UK and Ireland have already signed up to attend, and the programme for the day will soon be finalised.
The opening line-up of Featured Speakers has already been announced, with contributions from Amira Campbell, Sal Jarvis, Ale Armellini, Samar Gad and David Gilani sure to provide actionable insights on improving student engagement strategies.
The rest of the programme will be announced just as soon as the evasys review panel have assessed all of the proposals that have come in from institutions wishing to contribute. On that note, if you would like to showcase successful work around student engagement to your peers, our call for contributions closes on 30th November – get your proposal in ASAP!
