London Metropolitan University required a more efficient, accurate, qualitative and evidence-based approach to student insight and engagement and took the decision to enhance the use of evasys survey and evaluation software to help achieve its objectives.
The goal was to use evasys to surface data driven insights that would evidence the impact of student engagement and the University piloted additional components to the existing evasys solution. These components delivered online surveys via multiple channels accessible to students, then generated reports and insights better suited to overall institutional requirements.
Post-pilot with London Met’s Student Experience Survey (SES), the expanded evasys system (and results) were presented as a business case to the Learning & Teaching Quality Committee, and approved.
For London Met, the impact of evasys on the student engagement team has been significant. Surveys are now conducted with far greater speed and effectiveness, and confidence with and buy-in of the process has grown since the demonstrable uptick in response rates.
Overall, the University saw a 50% increase in the total number of completions of the Student Experience Survey and gained much richer data from those completions. 95% of all modules received student participation and there was a 100% increase in participation of the Welcome Survey.
