Join evasys at the European First Year Experience Conference 2023

Taking place at Abertay University from 27-29 June, the European First Year Experience (EFYE) Conference aims to bring together people and ideas to support the first-year experience of students in higher education.

Each year, the conference sees between 150 and 300 delegates from all over the world attending and is run by volunteers from the institutions represented, as well as receiving support from a board comprising previous organisers.

Glenda Saint John, Head of Engagement at evasys, will be at the event on 27th June and looks forward to speaking with delegates about how robust survey and evaluation processes can help to support student experience in the first year of learning.

Glenda from evasys will be part of the group delivering a 2-hour workshop on 27th June discussing Pre Arrival and the Student Journey.

The focus of this interactive workshop will be the importance of understanding students’ prior educational and social experiences, in order to best support their transition into university and to support and facilitate their journey into and through higher education.

About the EFYE Conference

The theme of this year’s conference is ‘Discovery and Design for Academic and Social Student Success: Establishing the Foundations for Student Success through the First Year Experience’.  The EYFE Conference will focus on:

  • Discovery: Personalising approaches to success

  • Dialogue: Creating opportunities for collaborative learning and communities

  • Decolonise: Engaging all students for a global perspective

  • Digital: Embracing technologies to support student success

With a packed programme, this network event will be very practice-focused, providing key take aways that can be applied when delegates return to their university.
