University of Sussex partners with evasys to transform student evaluation in just three weeks

The University of Sussex has partnered with evasys, the leading provider of student evaluation solutions, to deliver a rapid and seamless rollout of its new survey and insight solution – achieving full implementation in just three weeks.
The institution needed to replace the existing, manual system with a more efficient, digital platform that would not only gather feedback and provide aggregated data reporting, but could also be used as a catalyst for improving student engagement and response rates, increasing module leader engagement, closing the feedback loop with students, providing academic leaders with key insights and, ultimately, enhancing NSS results.
Sussex set an ambitious timeframe for implementation, and required their supplier to move at speed, integrate effortlessly and actually deliver, without adding unnecessary workload to stretched internal teams. evasys was able to meet this demand through its deep understanding of UK higher education, complete solution, turnkey deployment model and low-risk Public Contracts Regulations (PCR)-compliant procurement. The latter was achieved through a direct award via one of evasys partner Softcat plc’s Framework Agreements.
Rapid deployment, minimal impact on institutional resources
From first contact six weeks ahead of survey launch, to approval to proceed three weeks ahead of survey launch, evasys deployed the full system, including integrations, with minimal workload placed on the Sussex IT teams. The application was live within a day of agreement and staff were supported with unlimited user orientations.
A project plan was made available to Sussex staff on day one, with bi-weekly meetings held with key academic and professional services leads over the course of the implementation and launch. The project was actively managed by Glenda Saint John who, given her experience of working in higher education and managing multiple implementations, brought a wealth of advice and recommendations for a smooth process and delivery.
Results that deliver on objectives
The rollout has already achieved over 100% increase in response rates, and has been met with overwhelmingly positive feedback from stakeholders. Students benefit from a more streamlined experience, while academic and professional services staff now have an intuitive system that saves significant time and delivers insights at individual module level, as well as aggregated across organisational structures and academic units.
